Department of Surgery, The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas, USA During prolonged extracorporeal perfusion, thin-walled wire-wound cannulas have become the standard for low resistance cannula access for extrathoracic cannulation. We present an unusual technique of bone wax casting to repair a leak in a cannula to continue long-term extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
